On 8th December 2012, ACS held its presidential election and annual Christmas Party at Graduate Union, University of Cambridge.

During the event, Dr Wang Fengqiu, the outgoing president of the ACS, gave a brief presentation on the works of ACS in 2012. Mr Lian Chaoqun, a third year PhD candidate at Faculty of Asian and Middle Eastern Studies, was elected unanimously as the new president of ACS. Chang Na and Li Chen, current executives, as well as more than 40 members of the ACS, including Chinese visiting scholars and graduate students at University of Cambridge participated in the election and the party.
