The Association of Cambridge Studies CONSTITUTION
1. NAME The name of the Society shall be The Association of Cambridge Studies, the official abbreviation of which is ACS, hereinafter referred to as the Association. 2. AIMS (1) To promote a better understanding of the culture, history, teaching, research, and management systems of the University of Cambridge (2) To enrich its members’ learning and research experiences (3) To promote China-UK educational and cultural exchange 3. MEMBERSHIP (1) All members of the University are eligible to join the society. Although the society is principally intended for members of the University, others may join if they are interested. (2) All members have the rights to be present at any of the Association's meetings and activities, to vote in the electrons for President or other positions of the Executive Committee (hereinafter referred as EXCO). (3) All members shall support the activities sponsored by the Association. All members shall pay their membership fees, the amount of that is subject to the revision by the EXCO from time to time. The membership fee may be exempted if a member is in special financial difficulty, as of 2008, ACS implements free membership. (4) Any member may terminate his or her membership at any time by noticing the EXCO in writing. (5) The EXCO may expel any member whose conduct seems likely to bring the Society into disrepute. Such expulsion shall be subject to confirmation at the next Annual General Meeting (hereinafter referred as AGM). (6) Distinguished persons who may or may not be members of the Society can be proposed by the EXCO to be elected as Honorary Members by the Society at the AGM. Honorary Members do not have to pay membership fees but cannot vote at any meeting nor are eligible for offices in the Society.
